My Second Week Challenge: 30 Day Shred Level 3 and Yoga with Jillian Michaels!

 The 30 Day Shred features three 20-minute workouts, each of which features, in rapid succession, short bursts of strength, cardio, and abs, and a cool-down. Sound easy? Think again. Even the beginner-level workout will have users’ heart rates up. (A.T Hurley)

Yoga Meltdown: Combining hard-core yoga power poses with her dynamic training techniques, Jillian will get you real weight-loss results fast. YOGA MELTDOWN includes two complete 30-minute workouts that include a warm-up and cooldown. Begin with the Level 1 workout which focuses on quickly flowing yoga sequences to burn mega calories. Then progress to Level 2 which adds twists and balance poses for an even greater burn.

What I did:

The 30 Shred level 3 with Jillian Michael’s is an intense 30 minute work out that you can perform in your home.  It is a work out that consists of 3 Intervals of Strength (3 minutes) Cardio (2 minutes) and abs (1 minute!) There are a lot of planks, push ups, sit ups, butt kicks, squats, squat jumps, lunges, jumping jacks, rock star jumps and a few more exercises!

Yoga Level 2- You do various poses with a twist, Jillian adds a bit of quicker movements! There are a few challenging poses that will work your strength and flexibility!

What you need: Yoga Mat and Weights (I used 5 pounds.)

Difficulty: On the difficulty scale I would give it an 8.5. I would recommend doing the 30 day Shred levels 1 and 2 before you jump into 3! I would also give the yoga a 8, there were a few exercises that I could not fully do, and I look forward to continue to challenge myself with them!

What I liked/disliked: I love the 30 day Shred, this is a video you can pop in when you are watching your children or when you don’t have a lot of time to get out to the gym, go to a class or leave your home! It is not only intense but it is quick and you wake up feeling sore! I find that I can only do this video once in a while because it can be easy to “cheat” or modify the work out even though it is completely possible! That is why I like to only do it once in a while!

The Yoga Meltdown Level 2 is a tough yoga work out that consists of traditional yoga poses with a flair! I love this work out because in some types of yoga I get bored with holding a pose and this work out there is a lot of movement! I do only have one complaint, I find Jillian Michael’s to sound a bit harsh when she talks and sometimes I like to do Yoga to calm down and meditate! (My daughter work up half way through this and so she was crawling all over me at the end of the workout, but it still was great.)

Would I do it again:  Yes when I am at home and can’t leave this is the perfect workout!
